In an age of texts and tweets, there is nothing more refreshing than getting an actual handwritten letter. And, if it is a love letter all the better! Texts are purposely abbreviated, boiling down a message to the fewest possible letters, not words, but letters! Email is a little better, but still highly impersonal. Emails float through cyberspace then are read on a computer screen – not exactly warm and fuzzy places for messages of love! Emails are also susceptible to being read by just about anyone. Why take the time to write your heart out then send it in such an unsecured and impersonal way?
There is definitely a better way. Reach for some paper and a pen and give it a try! It is quite possible that there are millions of young people who have never actually received or written a real letter! Such a sad thing, so sad that there is now a revival of old fashioned letter writing going on to keep this art form from going extinct. In the past, even people who could not read or write still wrote and received letters. They used the services of a letter writer, dictating what they wanted to say. When the letter arrived, if the recipient couldn’t read, they had someone read the letter to them. And, all these letters were kept, they were that important. No delete keys back then to instantly erase message after message!
Imagine the surprise and joy when your partner receives her love letter from you. She will honestly be astonished with how thoughtful you are. You don’t have to be exceedingly eloquent, and you don’t have to be a successful author to pen an impressive love letter. All you need to do is genuinely express how you are feeling. Pretend you are sitting and talking to her, and just let your words flow.
You can make the letter as fancy or plain as you’d like. Some people enjoy using handsome stationary, while others use any paper that they have. It really doesn’t matter, as it is the words that are important. The same goes for how you deliver your letter.
